Annie S. Wu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She directs the Evolutionary Computation Laboratory and holds joint appointments with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Institute for Simulation and Training at UCF. Wu earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1995.

Her research spans genetic algorithms, evolutionary computation, complex adaptive systems, multi-agent systems, and machine learning. She has served on editorial boards for Evolutionary Computation and Memetic Computing, and held leadership roles with ACM SIGEVO and the International Society for Genetic and Evolutionary Computation.
