Annette Hines

Dr. Annette Hines serves as Executive Director of the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing within the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas, holding the academic rank of Professor. With over 40 years of nursing experience since her 1984 graduation from Duke University School of Nursing, she bridges clinical practice and academic leadership across multiple institutions.

Dr. Hines has held progressively senior roles including community college nursing educator, family nurse practitioner in rural South Carolina and occupational health settings in Charlotte, and Nurse Scientist at Novant Health. At Queens University of Charlotte (2000-?), she earned tenure, progressed from instructor to full Professor, chaired Graduate Studies for five years, and directed the Presbyterian School of Nursing before joining St. Thomas.

Though not teaching courses in Fall 2025 or Jterm 2026 per current schedules, she actively shapes nursing education through academic leadership, curriculum development, and ongoing research collaborations with clinical partners. Her textbook authorship and peer-reviewed publications reflect sustained scholarly contributions to the nursing discipline.
