Annette Bögle is a Professor of Structural Engineering at HafenCity University Hamburg, where she leads the Design and Analysis of Structures professorship. She serves as Vice President for Research and Internationalization at HCU and co-founded the interdisciplinary research initiative on models in the built environment (2019).
Research Interests
Her work bridges structural engineering, architecture, and urban planning through interdisciplinary modeling approaches. She focuses on technical-design, socio-cultural, and digital-process-oriented challenges in harbor cities, particularly transition zones like Hamburg’s Billhorner Brückenstraße. She collaborates with institutions across the Baltic Sea Region via the BeInterBaltic Erasmus+ project and organizes the Baltic International Summer School (B.I.S.S.).
Academic Leadership
She co-leads the PhD Symposium Interfaces in the Built Environment (2018) and contributes to sustainable heritage projects like the CO₂-neutral World Heritage Speicherstadt initiative. Her team includes PhD candidates and researchers in structural engineering and urban design.
