Annelle Curulla

Annelle Curulla is an Associate Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Scripps College. She holds a PhD and MA from Columbia University (2012, 2004), an MA from Middlebury College (2001), and a BA from Connecticut College (1999). Her research explores seventeenth- and eighteenth-century literature and culture, emphasizing gender, theater, and drama studies.

Curulla's publications include a monograph on gender and religious life in French Revolutionary drama and articles in journals like L’Esprit Créateur and Early Modern French Studies. She has received multiple awards, including the Mary W. Johnson Faculty Achievement Award and fellowships from the Mellon School and Whiting Foundation.
