Anneke Schaefer

Dr. Anneke Schaefer is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School, within the People and Performance department. She holds a PhD in Organisational Behaviour from the University of Liverpool (2021), along with BA and MSc qualifications. Her research focuses on work-family dynamics, gender equity, and non-traditional family structures in workplace contexts. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Dr. Schaefer teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Introduction to Human Resource Management, Fairness at Work, and Leading Change. She supervises undergraduate, MSc HRM, and PhD students exploring qualitative approaches to work-life experiences, such as managing work/non-work roles and gender diversity.

Her research agenda emphasizes lone-parent and blended family experiences, maternity/paternity policies, and organizational support systems. She advocates for flexible working arrangements to address family transitions in professional settings.
