Anne Rochebouet

Anne Rochebouet is a Lecturer in medieval French language and literature at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, where she is affiliated with the IECI - Institute of Cultural and International Studies in the Department of Letters. She holds a prestigious position as a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France, recognizing her significant contributions to medieval studies.

Her research focuses on medieval French literature, particularly universal stories in French from the 13th-15th centuries, semiotics of ancient manuscripts, and the materiality of medieval texts. She specializes in the history of language, philology, digital philology, and critical editions of Old and Middle French texts. Her work also explores poetics of narrative, medieval representation of Antiquity, and contemporary reception of the Middle Ages, especially in fantasy literature.

Dr. Rochebouet's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on the Romance of Troy, textual compilation practices, and the material aspects of medieval manuscripts. Her work bridges traditional philological approaches with digital humanities methodologies, examining how medieval narratives were structured, transmitted, and transformed across different manuscripts and geographical regions. She has made significant contributions to understanding the linguistic features of medieval French texts written in Italy and the evolution of textual presentation in medieval manuscripts.

She has held leadership positions including Deputy Director of the DYPAC laboratory (2014-2018) and Educational Director of the LATD course in the Master's in Culture and Communication (2016-2018).
