Dr. Anne Rae is a Research Professor and Research Director leading the Crops Program at CSIRO Agriculture and Food. She holds a PhD in Plant Cell Biology from the University of Melbourne. Her career includes postdoctoral research at the John Innes Centre, where she studied Rhizobium-legume interactions. At CSIRO, her work focuses on crop nutrition, plant development, and improving agricultural sustainability through advanced breeding and crop biology. Key projects include enhancing sugarcane productivity, developing alternative products from sugarcane, and improving cereal crop nutrient uptake.
Professional roles include Steering Committee membership for CSIRO’s Synthetic Biology Future Science Platform, Advisory Board membership for the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility, and Editorial Board membership for Scientific Reports.
