Anne Price

Dr. Anne M. Price is a Professor of Sociology and Interim QEP Coordinator for Experiential Learning at Valdosta State University (VSU). She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from The Ohio State University (2011). Her primary affiliations are with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Honors College. Alongside her academic role, she co-chairs the university’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences lecture series and serves as secretary for the Social Science Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research. Dr. Price also co-directs VSU’s Ecuador Study Abroad program, partnering with the Universidad San Francisco de Quito.

Her research focuses on quantitative methodologies and examines social structural factors shaping attitudes and behaviors, particularly cross-nationally. Key areas include gender dynamics in the Middle East, trust in science, and the relationship between transportation infrastructure and health outcomes. She has published extensively on topics such as political activism, food access disparities, and LGBTQ+ faculty experiences in religious institutions.

Dr. Price regularly teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Research Methods, Sociological Practice, Family Inequality, and Sociology of Gender. She has also led special topics courses on Gender & Globalization and the Sociology of Childhood. Her work emphasizes experiential learning, as reflected in her leadership of VSU’s QEP initiative.

Her professional service includes roles in curriculum design, international education, and promoting undergraduate research. Dr. Price’s research and teaching reflect a commitment to addressing societal challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.
