Anne O'Brien

Dr. Anne O'Brien is an Associate Professor in Gender and Production Studies within the Department of Media Studies at Maynooth University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities. She holds dual roles as Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning and Associate Dean for Research and Engagement, overseeing institutional strategies for educational innovation and research excellence. Her research focuses on gender inequality in media industries, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and media representation of critical social issues such as mental health, suicide, and domestic violence. She collaborates with NGOs and industry partners to drive policy change, including contributions to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland's initiatives.
