Anne-Marie Mccallion is a PhD researcher at the University of Liverpool, situated between the Philosophy and Sociology departments. Her work focuses on gender attrition in philosophy, feminist epistemology, and intersections of political economy with moral theory. She is supervised by Helen Beebee, Wendy Bottero, and Rachael Wiseman.
- Education: BA at Durham University, MA under Prof. Jenny Saul (University of Sheffield)
- Research Projects: Co-led the In Parenthesis Project studying WWII-era Oxford philosophers, and ran reading groups for marginalized genders in philosophy.
Her research critiques traditional philosophy’s exclusionary content and pedagogy, arguing for curricular reform. She has presented work at conferences including the Iris Murdoch Conference (Chichester, 2017), SWIP-Ireland (2018), and Nottingham University (2018).
Teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Ethics and upcoming Sociology courses. Funded by AHRC and recipient of the Liverpool Presidential Doctoral Scholarship.
