About
Dr Anne Macduff is a Senior Lecturer at ANU College of Law specializing in critical legal theory. Her research examines how law devalues difference through frameworks analyzing citizenship law, tenancy, public law, and family law using feminist, postcolonial and queer theories.
Macduff investigates identity exclusion in Australian citizenship law, arguing current frameworks construct racialized and gendered citizen subjects. Her scholarship also explores critical pedagogy in legal education, publishing on reflective practice, portfolio assessment, and student workload.
As University Education Scholar for ANU College of Law and co-chair of the Wellbeing Committee, she advances inclusive educational practices. Current doctoral supervision includes projects on representations of citizenship in law/literature and economic forms of domestic violence.
