Anne Kugler

Anne Kugler is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the College of Pharmacy, Western University of Health Sciences. She holds a Pharm.D. from Long Island University (2006) and a B.S. from Randolph-Macon College (1998), with a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (2007). Certified as a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) since 2011 and a Certified Immunizer, she is licensed in California and New York.

Her research focuses on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Nutrition, and Diabetes Management. At St. Mary Medical Center, she oversees an Ambulatory Care Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience program, emphasizing clinical training in diabetes management and multidisciplinary care. Her work integrates innovative teaching methods (e.g., flipped classrooms) and emerging technologies like blockchain for healthcare data access.

Her publications span diabetes pharmacotherapy, educational pedagogy, and medication safety. Notable contributions include studies on GLP-1 receptor agonists, inhaled insulin, and longitudinal curricular reforms. She has also explored pharmacist-led medication reconciliation to reduce adverse drug events.
