Anne Klitgaard is a part-time lecturer in the Department of the Built Environment at Aalborg University, part of The Faculty of Engineering and Science. She holds a PhD in Construction Management from Aalborg University, awarded in December 2022 through collaboration with Professionshøjskolen UCN. Her research focuses on project-as-practice, semiotics, and interorganizational collaboration in construction projects, with emphasis on impression management and ethnographic methodologies.
Her doctoral work applied semiotic analysis to understand how individual actions shape project frameworks and mechanisms. She has published on topics including boundary objects in collaborative practices and the role of storytelling in ethnographic research. Klitgaard was awarded the Chair's Award for Best Paper Presentation in 2020 for her work on impression management in construction studies.
