Anne Heemskerk

Anne Heemskerk serves as a Researcher and Teacher at the Freudenthal Institute within Utrecht University's Faculty of Science. Since October 2023, she has been actively engaged with the Expertise Point for Mathematics Education (ExpRW), a specialized unit dedicated to enhancing mathematics education quality across Dutch educational sectors through research-informed support.

Her research focuses on Mathematics Education with emphasis on:

• Curriculum innovation implementation
• Basic skills development frameworks
• Evidence-based educational methodologies
• Practical application of pedagogical research
• Interdisciplinary teaching approaches
• Assessment strategies for mathematical proficiency

She addresses critical challenges in primary, secondary, vocational, and special education through the ExpRW's mandate to translate academic research into classroom practice.

The ExpRW functions as her primary research environment, connecting academic theory with practical educational needs across the Netherlands' diverse learning institutions.
