About
Anne Denis is a University Professor in Psychopathology at Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), Chambéry, where she has been employed since 2008. She currently holds a dual role as both academic faculty and clinical psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy within the Emotional and Developmental Disorders Unit at USMB. Her academic career progressed from ATER (2008-2010) to Maître de conférences (2011-2022) before achieving full Professor status in 2022.
Her educational background includes a Psychology Doctorate (2008) from Université Toulouse II le Mirail focusing on post-traumatic stress and childbirth, a DEA in psychopathology (2005), and a Psychology License (2002). She obtained her HDR (Habilitation à diriger des recherches) in 2022 from Université Grenoble Alpes focusing on maternal psychopathology, along with a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (2013) from USMB and Université Claude Bernard Lyon1.
Denis specializes in perinatal mental health with particular expertise in birth-related trauma, postpartum depression, and emotion regulation during pregnancy. Her research consistently examines PTSD related to childbirth, maternal satisfaction following emergency procedures, and cognitive factors influencing postpartum mental health. The longitudinal nature of her studies, including recent pandemic-era research, demonstrates methodological rigor in tracking maternal mental health trajectories. She has developed clinical tools including the AccouZen therapeutic application (patented 2017, version 2 in 2020).
Her publication record shows consistent output in high-impact journals across psychology, clinical psychology, and perinatal health domains. The research demonstrates an evolving focus from foundational studies on birth-related PTSD (2011) to more complex examinations of emotion regulation and cognitive factors (2015-2021), culminating in pandemic-related mental health research (2021). Her work bridges clinical practice with academic research through cognitive behavioral therapy applications.
As an educator, Denis teaches across undergraduate and graduate levels including Interview Techniques (L2), Adult Psychopathology (L2), Personality Differential Approach (L3), and Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (M1). She also supervises clinical practice for Master's students specializing in Child and Adolescent psychology. Her clinical role since 2011 complements her academic work through direct patient care within USMB's Emotional and Developmental Disorders Unit.
Denis leads research through the LPNC (Laboratory of Psychology and Neurocognition) where she contributes to the Development and Learning team. Her invention of AccouZen demonstrates translational research from academic findings to clinical applications, with intellectual property held entirely by her since 2020. Her work integrates multiple disciplines including clinical psychology, obstetrics, and cognitive science to address maternal mental health challenges.
