Anna Wredenberg

Anna Wredenberg is a Professor and Specialist Physician at Karolinska Institutet, leading the Mitochondrial Metabolism in Health and Disease group within the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics. She is affiliated with the Centre for Inherited Metabolic Diseases at Karolinska University Hospital, specializing in clinical genetics and metabolic disorders. Her research focuses on mitochondrial biology, energy metabolism, and the molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction in diseases such as neurodegeneration, diabetes, and genetic metabolic disorders. She employs model systems like Drosophila melanogaster and patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) for in-depth molecular and metabolic analyses.
