Anna Sulimowska

Anna Sulimowska serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theory, Design and History of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology, specializing in industrial heritage preservation and urban landscape transformation.

Education:

• Doctoral degree (2005) with dissertation "Patronage Estates of Upper Silesia. A Study of the Place and the Significance of Industrial Culture in Urban Space" (supervised by Prof. Nina Juzwa)
• Postgraduate studies at the Academy of Heritage (International Cultural Centre and Krakow University of Economics)

Her research examines industrialization processes, urbanization dynamics, and post-industrial facility adaptation, emphasizing how industrial heritage shapes regional identity and sustainable local development. Work integrates architectural history, urban design, and cultural policy with a geographic focus on Upper Silesia.
