Anna Pratt

Anna Pratt is an Associate Professor of Criminology in the Department of Social Science at York University, Canada. Her research focuses on immigration penality, detention, deportation, and border control in Canada.

• Research Projects: Border Criminologies (major study of frontline border control)

Her work interrogates the law/discretion binary, administrative discretion, racial profiling, and the production of risk knowledges in border control. She has analyzed bordering technologies like the CBSA Most Wanted List and currently studies jurisdiction and scale in criminality-based deportations.
