Anna Oechslen is a Research Associate and postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Spatial Social Research (IRS) since March 2023, and holds a junior professorship for anthropological studies in culture and history at the University of Hamburg during the winter semester 2023/2024. She studied Social Science and Modern South and Southeast Asian Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin and University of Sussex.

Publications: Her work focuses on remote work, platform labor, socio-technical systems, and gendered spatial dynamics, with recent articles in journals like Global Networks and Digital Geography and Society.
Projects: She is involved in the third-party funded project REMAKING (2024-2027), analyzing socioeconomic impacts of remote work. Her Platform Ecology research (2018-2021) explored digital platform work in fashion design and creative industries.
