Anna Nowak is Professor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of Western Australia, with affiliations to the Medical School. Her leadership spans university-wide research strategy and outcomes. Previously, she served as Pro Vice Chancellor, Director of the National Research Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases, and medical oncologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
She holds a Master of Leadership from Deakin University (2022), PhD from University of Western Australia (2003), and MBBS from University of Western Australia (1990).
Her research focuses on mesothelioma, neuro-oncology, clinical trials, tumor immunology, and PET imaging. She leads the international DREAM3R clinical trial and investigates immunotherapy-radiotherapy synergies. Her publications (2023-2025) emphasize biomarkers, glioma care, immunotherapy mechanisms, and mesothelioma treatment optimization.
