About
Anna Moore is a Professor and Director of the Precision Health Program at Michigan State University (MSU), as well as the Associate Dean for Research Development in the College of Human Medicine. Her research focuses on developing molecular imaging technologies and theranostic agents to address diseases like cancer and diabetes. She holds a Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from the A.N. Bach Institute of Biochemistry in Moscow, Russia, and has prior experience at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Moore founded TransCode Therapeutics and is actively involved in professional societies such as the World Molecular Imaging Society.
Her research emphasizes in vivo molecular imaging to elucidate biological pathways in diseases, particularly cancer and diabetes. She pioneered methods for early detection of genetic alterations in diabetes and applied imaging technologies to monitor therapeutic efficacy. Key areas include nanodrug delivery systems targeting microRNAs (e.g., miR-10b), which show promise in glioblastoma and breast cancer treatment, and novel imaging probes for endometriosis and Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Moore’s work bridges molecular imaging with clinical applications, such as wearable technologies for Parkinson’s disease and MRI-guided islet transplantation. Her contributions span drug delivery, biomarker discovery, and precision medicine, with a focus on translational research from preclinical models to clinical trials.
