Anna Minasyan

Prof. Anna Minasyan is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Groningen (RUG), specializing in the political economy of development, with a focus on aid, gender, conflict, culture, and trust. She previously held a Postdoc Researcher position at the University of Göttingen (2016-2017), working on a large-scale IDRC/DFID-funded project. Her PhD thesis, completed summa cum laude, explored 'Aid, Politics, Culture, and Growth.'

Her research bridges political economy, gender, and development, addressing topics such as the impact of conflict on gender disparities, the role of cultural differences in aid effectiveness, and trust dynamics in resource-rich economies. She has published widely in top journals including European Economic Review, Economic Development and Cultural Change, and World Development.

Teaching responsibilities at RUG include courses on international finance, global political economy, and research methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has also taught at the University of Göttingen and participated in summer schools on gender and development.
