Anna Kanios

Prof. dr hab. Anna Kanios is a Full Professor at the Department of Social Pedagogy, Institute of Pedagogy, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. She serves as Head of the Department of Social Pedagogy and coordinates the Social Work program at UMCS.

• President of the Polish Association of Social Work Schools (2023-2027)
• Scientific Supervisor for the Kirkland Freedom Foundation program
• Member of Social Policy Reform Team at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy
• Scientific Consultant for Lublin City's Social Policy Strategy

Her research focuses on aging population challenges, social work education, professional competencies, intergenerational attitudes, and social inclusion strategies. She leads projects evaluating social service systems for seniors and foster care transition processes.

Recent publications show trends in social service delivery (2024), foster care transition (2024), senior care technology (2020), and cross-cultural social work (Poland-Germany studies).
