Ann Rigby-Jones

Dr. Ann Rigby-Jones is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology (Education) at the Peninsula Medical School, University of Plymouth. She serves as Programme Lead for the MSc Physician Associate Studies (Standard and Top-Up) and is the Academic Lead for Intercalation in the BMBS program. Her roles include curriculum leadership in pharmacology and therapeutics, module coordination, and academic tutoring.

Dr. Rigby-Jones' research focuses on clinical pharmacology, particularly the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anesthetic drugs such as propofol, remifentanil, and remimazolam. Her work spans critical care, surgical anesthesia, and toxicology, with a strong emphasis on drug behavior in special populations like obese and critically ill patients. She also contributes significantly to medical education research, especially in assessment methodologies and physician associate training.
