Anja Tippner

Anja Tippner is a Professor of Slavic Literature at the University of Hamburg since 2011. She previously held academic positions at Paris Lodron-University Salzburg (2006-2011), Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel (1995-2006), and Charles University Prague (1990-1992). Her research spans Holocaust literatures, Jewish Eastern European literatures, catastrophe narratives, surrealism, and translation studies.

• Ph.D. and M.A. in Russian and German Literature from the University of Hamburg
• Studies at Goethe-University Frankfurt, University of Hamburg, and St. Petersburg State University (1983-1990)

Her work focuses on intermediality, socialist children's culture, and life-writing in Slavic contexts. She has served on committees for the International Comparative Literature Association and contributed to EU accreditation programs.
