Professor Anja Louis is a Professor of Transnational Popular Culture at Sheffield Hallam University’s Department of Management, affiliated with the Culture and Creativity Research Institute. She serves as the university’s REF co-coordinator for UoA34 (Communication, Cultural and Media Studies). Her research focuses on gender, law, and culture, emphasizing the role of popular culture as a catalyst for socio-political discourse. She holds a PhD and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Her teaching centers on Spanish Cultural Studies and intercultural competence, including courses like BA Languages & Cultures with International Business and modules such as Intercultural Development. Current research projects include monographs on Femininity and Feminism in Spanish TV Dramas (Palgrave, 2024) and an edited collection on Gender and Television in Iberia and Latin America (Bloomsbury, under contract).
