Anita Sarma is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University, part of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science within the College of Engineering. She previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and was a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science.
Her research focuses on the intersection of software engineering and computer-supported cooperative work, particularly on coordination mechanisms in distributed software development environments. She investigates how interdependencies among work artifacts, design erosion, and organizational culture impact team coordination, and develops solutions for generating, distributing, and presenting critical coordination information.
