Angus Pryor

Angus Pryor is a Professor and Head of the School of Creative Arts at the University of Gloucestershire. His work centers on Practice as Research, fostering international collaborations and creative excellence. He has spearheaded initiatives to integrate global learning and industry partnerships, enhancing student placement opportunities. His research explores cultural intersections, notably Ethiopian religious iconography and curatorial practices.

Prof Pryor's current project, '1 Enoch' (2020), a collaborative effort with Prof Philip Esler, merges post-conceptual painting with narrative figuration, exhibited in Gloucester and Canterbury Cathedrals. This work examines themes of transcendence and cultural dialogue through visual storytelling.

He has established the School of Creative Arts as a hub for innovative research and teaching, emphasizing student-centered environments and interdisciplinary art practices.
