Angelo Ditillo is an Associate Professor of Management Accounting and Director of the BSc in Business Administration and Management at Bocconi University. He holds a Bachelor’s and PhD in Business Administration from Bocconi University. He has served as a visiting professor at institutions such as Saïd Business School, IESE Business School, and the University of Technology Sydney. His research focuses on digital transformation of finance functions, private equity agreements, and management control in creative and knowledge-intensive organizations. He has authored publications in top journals like European Accounting Review and Management Accounting Research. He is a member of CIMA’s Research Board and Bocconi’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
His teaching includes courses on Performance Measurement, Strategic Management Accounting, and Cost Management. His work explores innovative approaches to inter-organizational control, audit team dynamics, and sustainability in management systems. Recent research emphasizes contractual frameworks in private equity and the role of accounting in fostering creativity and innovation.
Key contributions include studies on audit team efficiency, control mechanisms in knowledge-intensive firms, and the integration of sustainability into management systems. His field research methodology is highlighted in the Routledge Companion to Behavioural Accounting Research.
