Dr. Angelika Feldmann is a Researcher at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany, leading the Research Group 'Mechanisms of Genome Control' since October 2021. She previously held postdoctoral positions at the University of Oxford (2014-2021) and the Friedrich Miescher Institute (2014).
Education:
- Ph.D. in Genetics (2009-2014), Friedrich Miescher Institute, Basel, Switzerland
- Diploma in Molecular Medicine (2004-2009), Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg, Germany
Her research focuses on gene regulation in the 3D nucleus, particularly how spatial organization influences normal and cancerous cell-type transitions. She has pioneered studies in DNA methylation turnover, chromatin interactions, and transcriptional priming mechanisms.
Scientific Awards & Fellowships:
- 2023: ERC Starting Grant
- 2021: Helmholtz Young Investigator Award
- 2016: Sir Henry Wellcome Trust Research Fellowship
- 2015: EMBO Long Term Fellowship
