Angela Nicoara

Angela Nicoara is a Professor of Computer Science at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU), Switzerland. She leads the IoT Innovation Lab and co-heads the Systems and Software Research Lab. With over 24 years of experience, she specializes in IoT, edge computing, and distributed systems, having contributed to breakthrough technologies at institutions like Intel Labs, ETH Zürich, and Google.

Her research focuses on IoT security, mobile systems, net-zero energy systems, and runtime adaptation. She holds patents in IoT and mobile systems and has published extensively in top conferences like IEEE RTAS and ACM WWW. Her work has earned prestigious awards, including the Best Paper Awards and recognition from Intel and Deutsche Telekom.

Prof. Nicoara actively participates in academic and industry conferences, chairs committees, and advises on cybersecurity through her roles in ECSO and Black Hat. She bridges technical innovation with business strategy, driving impactful advancements in systems software and communication technologies.
