Angela Mazzetti

Angela Mazzetti is a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University's Business and Law School, where she leads the part-time and degree apprenticeship MBA programmes. She teaches in the areas of people management and research methods and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Her academic journey includes roles at the universities of Teesside, York St John, and Newcastle, with over two decades of experience in higher and further education, as well as industry leadership in the utilities sector.

Her research focuses on culture and coping, exploring how individuals adapt to stress, conceptualize stressful environments, and develop resilience or deplete coping reserves over time. She is particularly interested in the emotional dimensions of qualitative research, including how researchers are emotionally impacted during ethnographic fieldwork. Her work emphasizes methodological innovation, especially through visual tools like timeline methods in stress research.

Her recent publications reveal a consistent trend in qualitative organizational research, with an emphasis on emotional labor, resilience, and innovative methodologies. These works span book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Journal of Organizational Ethnography and Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, often addressing the intersection of personal experience, coping mechanisms, and research methodology.

Angela has led funded projects related to widening participation in higher education and has conducted consultancy in performance management and stress interventions.
