Angela Lewis

Dr. Angela Lewis is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education (B-8) at the School of Education, Colorado State University, and Program Coordinator for the Early Childhood Education Teacher Licensure program. She holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado, and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming, with a minor in qualitative research methodologies. Her work emphasizes inclusive, culturally relevant teacher preparation, leveraging partnerships with Northern Colorado educational institutions to develop curricula and reflective teaching practices.

Her research focuses on teacher preparation and professional development schools (PDS), with recent studies addressing pandemic-era pedagogical adaptations and play-based education’s impact on school readiness. Dr. Lewis has presented at conferences such as the National Association of Professional Development Schools and the Association of Teacher Educators, highlighting trauma-informed practices and partnership-driven education models.
