Angela Kaida

Dr. Angela Kaida is a Professor at Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Health Sciences, where she has been a faculty member since 2010. She serves as Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute for Gender and Health and held a Canada Research Chair Tier 2 in Global Perspectives in HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health from 2012 to 2022. Her work bridges global health, epidemiology, and sexual/reproductive health research.

Dr. Kaida's research focuses on the intersection of HIV and sexual/reproductive health, particularly in high-prevalence settings like South Africa, Uganda, and Canada. Her projects span safer conception programs, gender-based violence, stigma reduction, and healthcare equity.

Recent publications highlight trends in HIV treatment outcomes, mental health disparities, community interventions, and gender equity frameworks. Key themes include pandemic impacts on vulnerable populations, intersectional stigma, and innovative research methods. She has contributed to WHO guidelines and community-driven SRHR policy advancements.
