Angela K. Wilson is the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives in the Dean’s Office at Michigan State University, where she also holds the prestigious John A. Hannah Distinguished Professorship in the Department of Chemistry. She is the Director of the MSU Center for Quantum Computing, Science, and Engineering (MSU-Q), overseeing interdisciplinary research and educational programs. Her group is based in the College of Natural Science and operates in laboratories CEM 218, 220, 239, and 338.

Research Interests: The Wilson Group focuses on physical, theoretical, and computational chemistry, including the development of theoretical methodologies, heavy element chemistry, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, protein modeling, drug design, metal-organic frameworks, green chemistry, and materials chemistry. Their work spans from relativistic effects to computational techniques for drug discovery and solar energy modeling.

Advising: Angela supervises a diverse team of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers. Current graduate students include Zach Stewart, Chrissy Schumm, Deepak James, Rana Massoud, Ebtisam Telb, Nazlı Göksel Çarpa, Jaxon George, Audrey Stemen, Baransel Hakkı Çarpa, Lara McMonigal, and Zekihan Özerdem.
Labs & Teams: The Wilson Group organizes regular Friday meetings at 10:00 AM and runs the MSU-Q Center, which integrates quantum computing, science, and engineering. The group has hosted summer lecture series covering topics like Hartree-Fock theory, density functional theory, VASP, molecular dynamics, and GPU-accelerated computing.
