Angela Jones is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at San Francisco State University (SFSU). She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in English Literature and Gender Studies from the University of Rochester, and a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to her role at SFSU, she served as a Fellow in the Humanities at Stanford University, a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow at CUNY’s Graduate School, and Interim Dean of the College of Extended Learning at SFSU.
Her research and teaching focus on intersections of arts, science, technology, and gender representations, with expertise in British Romanticism, life writing, gender and visual arts, and Mary Shelley’s legacy. Courses taught include 19th- and 20th-century literature, memoir, ecology and literature, and literary history.
Dr. Jones has been recognized through prestigious fellowships, including her Stanford and NEH appointments. Her work appears in venues such as the Women’s Caucus for the Modern Languages and Women’s Studies, alongside anthologies on Romanticism and gender studies.
Office hours are Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. for in-person visits, and by appointment for remote sessions.
