Angela Hayslett

Angela Hayslett is a Lecturer at the Hart School of Business, James Madison University. She holds a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati, an M.S. in Sports and Recreation Leadership from JMU, and is pursuing an MBA at JMU. Her expertise spans sports risk management, crisis management in sport, and legal foundations in leisure services.

• Positions: Faculty Member at JMU (2013-present), Board Secretary at Harrisonburg-Rockingham Sports Commission (2012-present), Governance Chair at Wintergreen Adaptive Sports (2012-present), and Principal at Nohr Sports Risk Management, LLC (2010-present).

Her research focuses on risk management strategies in NCAA athletic facilities, legal compliance, and crisis response in sports. Notable works include studies on racism in youth soccer and technology applications for crisis management.

Recipient of the APPA CFaR Research Award (2021) for her work on NCAA athletic facilities risk management.
