Angela P. Harris is Distinguished Professor of Law at Seattle University School of Law, Professor Emerita at UC Davis School of Law, and co-founder/co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law and Political Economy. She directs the Critical Justice Initiative with Professor Steven Bender.
Education:

Scholarly Contributions: Harris pioneered critical approaches in legal scholarship through influential work in critical race theory, feminist legal theory, and law/political economy. She co-authored foundational casebooks including Criminal Law: Cases and Materials for a Diverse America and Economic Justice.
Leadership: Founded academic organizations including LatCrit, ClassCrits, and the Law and Political Economy Collective. Established three university centers: Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice (Berkeley), Aoki Center for Critical Race Studies (UC Davis), and Water Justice Clinic (UC Davis).
Honors: Received the 2008 Clyde Ferguson Award from the AALS Minority Section for outstanding mentorship. Currently active in the Critical (Legal) Collective defending academic freedom.
