Angela Gunder

Dr. Angela Gunder is an Instructor in the College of Information Science at the University of Arizona, specializing in instructional design and digital learning. She also serves as the CEO of Opened Culture, a collaboratory advancing educational access through open collaboration. Her roles include leading initiatives like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant (2020-2024) and serving as CAO of the Online Learning Consortium (2019-2024).

Educational Background: Holds a Ph.D. in Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies (U of A), M.Ed. in Education Technology (Arizona State), and B.S. in Computer Science and Fine Art (Fordham University). Recognized as an Erasmus Scholar (2020) and OLC Fellow (2019).

Research Focus: AI literacies, open education, narrative digital learning, and technology for language acquisition. Her work emphasizes equity, accessibility, and global collaboration in education, with projects funded by UNESCO, Hewlett Foundation, and MIT Open Learning.
