Angela Guerrero Gonzalez

Dr. Angela Guerrero Gonzalez is a Senior Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the School of Architecture & Built Environment within the Faculty of Engineering. She holds an ARC Discovery Early Career Research Fellowship and received the QLD Young Tall Poppy Award in 2024. Her work focuses on environmental governance, social-ecological systems, and collaboration networks in addressing complex environmental challenges like climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation.

Education: PhD in Environmental Social Science (University of Queensland, 2015), Master's in Environmental Management (University of Queensland), Engineering degree from Universidad de Los Andes, and International Business (Griffith University). Prior to QUT, she worked at the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions.

Research Interests: She investigates human behavior in environmental decision-making, collaborative governance mechanisms, and the application of social network analysis to environmental policy. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches linking sociology, ecology, and urban planning to achieve sustainable outcomes.

Grants & Projects: Secured over $1M in research funds, including the Australian Competitive Grant DE210101385 for studying social and trade networks influencing sustainable practices. Active projects include analyzing supply chain dynamics and deforestation mitigation strategies.
