Angela A. Miller

Angela A. Miller is a Lecturer in Design and Technology at Northern Illinois University's School of Theatre and Dance, bringing extensive professional stage management expertise to her teaching. As a working AEA Stage Manager since 2007, she bridges academic instruction with active industry practice.

Her educational qualifications include:

• MAEd from Northeastern Illinois University
• BS in Speech and Theatre Education from Ball State University

Ms. Miller specializes in stage management for theatre and dance productions, with professional credits spanning Chicago's premier venues (Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Off-Broadway, and national regional theaters. She integrates this hands-on experience into curriculum development and student mentorship.

As an active union leader, she serves on the Actors Equity Association Central Regional Board and chairs the Chicago Area Theaters Committee. Her teaching extends beyond NIU through appointments at North Central College, Columbia College Chicago, and secondary institutions, focusing on practical production skills and professional development for emerging theatre artists.
