Dr. Angel Ford is an Assistant Professor in the Information Sciences and Technology Department within the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany, where she joined in July 2023. She directs the Global Epistemic Justice Lab and serves as past president of the International Society for Educational Planning (2023-2025). As a Fulbright Specialist, she recently completed a project on Pemba Island, Tanzania, with plans for additional work focused on building research capacity in sub-Saharan Africa.
Her research centers on educational equity both domestically and internationally, examining learning environments, educator and student motivations, equitable collaborations, and global social justice in scholarly communication. Dr. Ford's work bridges information science, educational research, and international development, with a particular emphasis on creating frameworks for examining global knowledge production and dissemination.

Dr. Ford teaches courses including Research Methods, Curriculum & Supportive Resources, Elementary Internship, and research-focused courses through the Global Epistemic Justice Lab. Her advising emphasizes hands-on research experience, literature review development, data collection, and analysis within the context of global epistemic justice. Her lab provides opportunities for students to engage with international research projects focused on equitable knowledge production and dissemination.
