Angélica Torres

Angélica Torres is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, working in the research group led by Guido Montúfar. She previously held postdoctoral positions at KTH Stockholm with Kathlén Kohn and at CRM (Centre de Recerca Matemàtica) with Marta Casanellas. Her PhD was completed in the MBIO group (Mathematics of Chemical Reaction Networks) under the supervision of Elisenda Feliu at KTH Stockholm.

Torres's research bridges Applied Algebraic Geometry and Data Analysis, with applications in Life Sciences and Artificial Intelligence. She explores algebraic methods to solve problems in evolutionary biology, chemical reaction networks, and computational geometry, as demonstrated in her collaborations on time-reversible evolutionary models and Voronoi cell applications.
