Andy West is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Physiology at the University of Chichester, specializing in energy provision during exercise and its adaptations to training, inactivity, and aging. He holds a BSc (2008), MSc (2011), and PhD (2018) from Cardiff Metropolitan University and the University of Chichester. His research focuses on methodological approaches to quantify energy expenditure and applied consultancy work with elite endurance athletes in extreme environments like the Marathon Des Sables and North Pole Marathon.
