Andy Pringle is Professor of Physical Activity and Health Intervention at the College of Science and Engineering. His research examines physical activity promotion across the lifespan, health behavior change, and implementation of movement guidelines in diverse populations.
Research interests include physical activity interventions, fundamental movement skills development, health equity, and behavior change during health crises. Recent work explores barriers/enablers for physical activity in culturally Deaf adults, COVID-19 impacts on active lifestyles, and early childhood motor development programs.
Publications demonstrate strong focus on translational research, with studies examining healthcare professional roles in physical activity promotion, technology-enabled interventions (DigiBete app), and community-based programs. Research spans clinical populations (diabetes, cancer survivors) and life stages (early childhood to older adulthood).
