Andy Forse

Andy Forse is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Blue Governance within the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business & Law, University of Portsmouth. His research focuses on sustainable fisheries management and marine governance in the UK context.

• Environmental and socio-economic sustainability of capture fisheries
• Impact of Brexit on UK fishing communities
• Abandoned, lost and discarded fishing gear (ALDFG) and biodegradable solutions
• Marine governance and policy

His 17 research outputs demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary approach, covering participatory decision-making in fisheries, European marine governance, and economic analyses of tuna markets. His work bridges environmental science, economics, and policy to address sustainability challenges.

Forse contributed to the PANDORA project (2018-2022) on dynamic oceanic resource assessments and is actively involved in the Centre for Blue Governance.
