Andy Felt

Andy Felt serves as Associate Professor and Artistic Director of Theatre at Marietta College, appointed in 2009. He oversees academic instruction and theatrical productions within the Theatre Department.

His educational background includes:

• MFA in Directing from Ohio University
• BA in Acting from California State University, San Bernardino

Professor Felt specializes in classical theatre production with emphasis on Shakespearean works, stage combat choreography, and technical theatre design. His professional practice bridges academic instruction with active industry engagement through directing, sound design, and combat certification.

His notable professional achievements include:

• Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare in the Garden (California)
• Founding member of Shakespeare by the River Festival (now Marietta Summer Theatre Festival)
• Certified Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors
• Resident Assistant Technical Director of California Riverside Ballet Company

He has received multiple stage management awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KC/ACTF) and his sound design work has been featured at prominent venues including New York City's Public Theatre and Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.

As Artistic Director, Felt mentors students through Theatre Capstone courses and directs major productions, maintaining strong connections between academic curriculum and professional theatre practice.
