André Valente

André Valente is a PhD researcher affiliated with the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon. He holds a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge (2001) and a PhD in Biology and Medicine under the Gulbenkian Programme, studying neurobiology at Harvard University. His career focuses on vision science, medical ethics, and translational research initiatives.

• Launched the António Champalimaud Vision Award in 2006.
• Established the Ethics Committee for the Champalimaud Clinical Centre in 2015.
• Coordinated vision-related programs like the UM Cure 2020 Consortium.
