Prof. Dr. André Scheffel is a Professor of Aquatic Microbiology at the University of Greifswald since 2023. Previously, he held the Heisenberg Professorship for Molecular Cell Biology of Microalgae at the Technical University of Dresden (2021–2023) and led an Emmy Noether research group at the Max-Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (2010–2021).
