André Roux

André Roux is a Visiting Professor of Economics at Vlerick Business School and a Professor at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa. He leads the Futures Studies programmes and previously directed the Institute for Futures Research (IFR) at the University of Stellenbosch. His expertise spans business and labour economics, globalization, socio-economic development in Africa, and futures thinking. He lectures globally, including in Australia, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Ghana, and Nigeria.

Research focuses on globalisation’s socio-economic impacts in Africa and executive education. He teaches economics across Masters programmes at Vlerick and contributes to the Bureau for Economic Research as management committee member.

Recognized for teaching excellence, he won the 2016 Best Lecturer Award in Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.
